This weekend saw the opening round of the Giant NRS XC National Points Series at Thetford Forest. The men’s Elite race saw extremely close racing, with winner Jody Crawforth (Evans) outsprinting team-mate Sam Gardner to take victory by just three seconds. Third-placed Oli Beckingsale (MBUK/Scott) was another eight seconds down. Defending series champ Barrie Clarke (Giant Racing) could only manage sixth. There’s a long way to go yet, though…

In the womens’ Elite race, Jenny Copnall (Motorex/Bianchi) opened up an authoritative four-minute gap on second-placed Hazel Wakefield (ERV/Bianchi UK) with Lydia Gould (Hargroves/Trant/Next) in third.
