The CLIC24 24 hour event (south of Bristol, 31 May, all for charity) is drawing ever nearer, chronologically speaking. Even nearer is the closing date, which our spies in the CLIC24 organisation tell us will be 16 May. Six weeks away that might be, but five minutes ago it was February so it’s a good idea to get yourself sorted.
Entry to CLIC24 is free but you have to attain a minimum level of sponsorship (£50 per rider). Which means that the more teams there are, the more money that childrens’ leukaemia charity CLIC makes. Plus which the course is apparently splendid – we’re going to go and check it out ourselves at some point just to be sure. Any excuse for a ride…
It all sounds like a good thing to us. And to make things even more interesting we’ve cooked up a little Bikemagic challenge for you. Here’s how it works. Grab yourself an entry form from www.clic24.org.uk and enter under the team name Bikemagic. Then go off and see how much sponsorship you can collect. When Thursday 29 May rolls around, email the organisers with your name and sponsorship total.
Then comes the interesting part. The four riders with the highest sponsorship totals will go in one team. The next four in another team. And so on until we run out of riders. To add a certain frisson to the event, you won’t know who you’re riding with until you show up at registration. But you’ll know they’ll be Bikemagic members and therefore fine upstanding citizens and probably highly intelligent and devilishly handsome to boot.
Remember, the closing date for entries is 16 May. Event details are at www.clic24.org.uk.
