Bontrager Twentyfour12

Keith Bontrager in action last year

Bontrager Twentyfour12 is just over two weeks away (14/15 July) and entries are filling up fast. The closing date for entries is 9 July, and with just four places left in the 24 hour event and not many more in the 12 hour solo, don’t hang around if you want to race.

Last year’s event was a success by all accounts, but Keith Bontrager has been busy checking and tweaking the Rob Lee built course which is said to offer a few surprises from last year.

Located on the Cotswold Farm Park, Cheltenham, camping is free to competitors and their party. This year campers will have use of a permanent campsite for a and pan flat ‘quiet’ camping area with even limited electric hook up, showers, loos, water and chemical toilet disposal. The main campsite will be located near to the main arena and will also be served by hot showers, loos and water.

The demo event will take place on Friday 13 July with bikes on offer from Cotic, Santa Cruz, Bionicon plus a unique chance to be the first to view and test ride a range of 2008 Gary Fisher and Trek bikes. More demo bikes will be added to this line up as the event draws near.

Exposure lights have now come on board and will be offering a full and free light charging service throughout the event for all brands of light. Royles will be providing the event Bike Wash facility and also neutral tech support together with their well stocked event shop for those forgotten items and broken bits. Quaver Catering will be on hand throughout the event with their fine range of grub and a separate coffee and pancake tent next to the covered (yes that’s right covered) transition area.

For solos there’ll be a separate tent to keep their supplies and allow easy access, with camping nearby. SRAM will also be providing tech support. This year we’ve also linked up with the Cotswold Academy of Health and Beauty who will be providing massage and a few extra ‘treatments’ along the way.

Friday night will be movie night with the UK premiere of the eagerly awaited 24 Solo movie, a perfect film to get you fired up for the weekend’s riding. The film will be introduced by Keith Bontrager and will take place straight after the night practice lap.
