Bikepark Leogang opened its doors today, with several tracks overhauled for the summer season in Austria.
The Bongo Bongo Freeride Trail can now boast a new section that ensures even more flowy freeride fun, while Leogang’s tried and tested UCI World Cup Downhill track, the Speedster, which has never been suitable for the faint of heart, has an additional section of jumps.
The dirt course is also being completely reworked and optimised this year so that the 26TRIX (June 16-18) can guarantee even better bike action. The Hangman is being rebuilt from the top station to the middle station and the new section will make singletrail hearts beat faster after June 1.
Instead of a foampit, which invited even beginners to try daring stunts without the danger of injury, there will be an upgrade this year. The Big Bag Jump is even safer and as of June, the air cushion will help pros give their technique the perfect finish while rookies can try their first backflip without having to worry about getting hurt.
If you want to see exactly where you need to improve, film yourself with BikeMovie on the fourcross track. Start the camera with your lift pass and the entire race will be filmed with a mobile camera. You can watch the clip right there at the course and it will be posted on Bikepark Leogang’s website. From there you can download it and share your best run online or analyse exactly where you still need to practice.
And for the ultimate adrenaline rush without a bike, try the Flying Fox XXL. If you dare, swoosh like superman at approximately 130 km/h into the valley and enjoy the breathtaking views at over 140m above the ground.
