The Artemis Highland 100 takes place on 12 September 2009 around the historic areas of the Scottish Highlands, and aims to raise money for CHAS (Children’s Hospice Association Scotland) and Cancer Research UK.
The route starts in Kenmore on the banks of Loch Tay and will see participants taking in some of the most spectacular scenery in the Scottish Highlands. Most of the route will be on minor roads including two challenging 12km off-road sections. All three routes will encompass Loch Lyon, and each route will start at Kenmore and finish at Killin.
Three medal stages – Gold, Silver and Bronze – allow cyclists of all abilities to take part and pick the size of their challenge. For the brave the 82 mile Gold ride features both on and off-road terrains, plus a circuit around an entire Loch. The Silver ride is 65 miles long and takes in the south side of Loch Rannoch and Glen Lyon, while the shorter 53 mile Bronze ride is ideal for the entire family.
You can enter in teams of four, and have 12 hours to complete the course. Each team member is asked to raise a minimum of £400, or £1,600 per four-person team. To register your interest, head to www.artemishighland100.com.
