Adrian Lansley claimed the overall elite men’s Southern XC Series crown with a second place finish at the fifth round in Alton, Hampshire.
The PedalOn.co.uk rider has been in superb form through the series, picking up two second place finishes and a victory from three starts in the previous four rounds.
And, despite Lee Williams returning to form to win round five, Lansley walks away with the title after amassing 228 points.
Williams finished third behind Liam Killeen and Adrian Lansley at the opening event in April but has since been plagued by injury, failing to start the three subsequent rounds.
But the Team Wiggle rider took advantage of a Jody Crawforth puncture on lap two to open up a comfortable lead and rode home in 1:41.36 hours after five laps of the six kilometre course.
Marathon specialist Sally Bigham marked her debut appearance with a convincing win, finishing 18 minutes ahead of Jessie Roberts in second.
And Carla Haines’ completed the podium to secure the overall elite women’s title.
