The 2012 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships will take place in Saalfelden Leogang, Austria between August 29 and September 9.

The Bikepark Leogang opened its gates in 2001 and has constantly sought to improve its trails, home to the Out of Bounds Festival and a leg of this year’s World Cup series.

“The World Cup, which for the first time this season took place in Leogang, received great feedback from all sides and I’m truly confident that the worlds will be extremely successful too,” said UCI president Pat McQuaid.

Preparations for the development of the new cross country trail in Saalfelden are already in full swing.

And a new four cross track was completed earlier this year, featuring a steep starting section, immediately followed by a sizeable drop and a double with step-down.

The downhill track remains one of the toughest on the circuit while the trials course will be built in Saalfelden city centre.
