Expect some insane riding this weekend at the adidas Slopestyle
The fourth adidas Slopestyle will pit the world’s best freerider’s against each other when it goes ahead between 31 July and 3 August at the One Big Park in Saalbach Hinterglemm, Austria.
Final preparations are currently underway, with the course now complete and ready and waiting for 40 of the world’s best freerider’s to attempt to take the top spot on the podium.
This year, the tranquil town of Saalbach Hinterglemm will turn into a freeride mecca for four days as the who’s who of the international freeride community gets together, with names such as 2007 Crankworx Slopestyle winner Ben Boyko, Qashqai Challenge 2008 winner Grant “Chopper“ Fielder, Timo Pritzel, Benny Korthaus, Trond Hansen and many more heading to Austria.
The 40 riders will take to the course on 2 August and will throw down every ounce of trickery, style, flair and smoothness in their attempt win some of the $30,000 price money.
Aaron Lutze, creator of Match Videozine, will be judging. “I am really looking forward to being the head judge for the adidas Slopestyle. It was a huge honour to be asked to head up the results for what will undoubtedly be one of the most important events of the year. The adidas Slopestyle has always been such a huge part of the mountain bike contest scene, and it seems that every time the event comes around, a new star is launched into the freeride world – like Andreu and Lluis Lacondeguy from the previous event.
“After looking at the course drawings, it looks like the riders should be able to really throw down on this course. It’s going to be great for the crowd to be watch, and extremely difficult for me and my panel of judges.”
