We’ve just been informed that Lydia Gould is currently attempting the South Downs Double, having set out from Winchester at 9pm on Thursday evening.
Chances of breaking the magic 24-hour barrier have been hampered by unfavourable weather, but however close Gould makes it to 24, she’ll most certainly be the first to set the SDD women’s record, firmly throwing down the gauntlet to others.
Our man on the ground (and unofficial time keeper of all things SDD) Rory Hitchens says: “She is set to finish in the dark sometime tonight and we’ll let you know the finish time.”
Lydia Gould is sponsored by TORQ and Exposure Lights.
Good luck Lydia!
