After wining the first two rounds of the UCI World Cup, Tracy Moseley’s winning streak was brought to a halt in Leogang, Austria as French rider Floriane Pugin put in a winning ride.
In a race where the muddy conditions made the going tricky, Rachel Atherton rode consistently to place second. Tracy Moseley could only manage third.
The result still leaves Moseley ahead in the overall rankings, poised on 660 points followed by Pugin on 570. Atherton is on 410, but she did miss the first round.
“It is hard to take in,” a breathless Pugin said after her run. “I’m so happy. It was so hard in the pedalling section because it [the ground] was getting sticky and it was hard to carry speed through there, but I gave it my all. To win a World Cup was my main goal for this year, and now it is done!”
