Seattle-based Transition Bikes is better known for hard-hitting and long-travel bikes so the new 130mm trail full-susser is something of a departure, not that it’s a bad thing, judging from these photos we’ve been sent.
With this new Bandit the designers have been careful with the location of the pivots and leverage curves to achieve a bike that feels like a longer travel machine on the descents but still has XC climbing credentials, all wrapped up in a lightweight 5.5lb (2.49kg) frame.
Says Transition: “Our goal was to create a trail bike that combined the ultimate uphill pedaling feel along with a playful spirit on the downhill that is a treat to throw around corners, bunny hop and pull the front end up over obstacles. The Bandit gets you the best of both worlds without compromising and will put a smile on your face going up and downhill.”
Four sizes will be available and is due to land on this small island in Spring 2011. The price has yet to be confirmed.
