Back in August we gave you a sneak peak of the 2011 Marin Rift Zone – and now it’s arrived seeking the Bikemagic seal of approval.
The Rift Zone comes in three editions – XC6, XC7 and XC8 – ranging from £1599 to £2499. Head over to Marin’s website for the full spec and pricing.
Boasting a new Hydro Light II frame and 100mm travel Quad 2.0 suspension system with a new, low-profile Y-link design, each Rift Zone model is, according to Marin, engineered for speed. We’re looking forward to putting it through its paces.
The revised frame loses the curved top tube for a straighter item. The shock mounts have also been redesigned and the swingarm is also lighter with smaller section tubes used.
What about the rest? SRAM X-9 2×10 speed front derailleur, SRAM X.0 rear derailleur and Maxxis Aspin 26″ x 2.1″ Kevlar Bead tyres come as standard, while the WTB Silverado Race SL saddle is fitted on a FSA SL-250 seatpost.
We were impressed by the white and blue colourway – somehow subtle yet striking. Let’s see how it gets on…
