It’s getting increasingly difficult to resist the 29er movement, and it’s only made more difficult when bikes as sexy as the stunning Niner Jet 9 come along.
29er specialist Niner Bikes has three different 29in FS bikes in its range. The Jet 9 is the company’s shortest travel full-susser. It’s designed for the pursuit of speed, with a lightweight build and the same precise handling as the brands hardtails.
A low-slung hydroformed frame features 80mm (3in) of rear wheel travel with a pair of short forged linkages controlling the shock rate. A Fox RP23 shock tames the bumps. Geometry has been designed around an 80-100mm fork which plugs into the tapered head tube, keeping the front end nice and stiff.
