Scott Genius LT ready to Mega Avalanche
Released only a couple of months ago, Scott’s Genius LT has already proved it’s race capability with a podium finish by Nino Schurter at the recent Mega Avalanche in la Réunion, Saint-Paul.
Nino finished third after a run featuring pro riders from all disciplines, downhill to cross country. Nino crossed the line behind Remy Absalon and downhill legend Nicolas Vouilloz, but as he’s done all season, Nino still came out ahead of Julien Absalon. Rounding out the podium was Cedric Gracia.
Nino commented after the race: “It was a great adventure on la Reunion. But I have to confess that I need to practice more in the DH, in order to stay competitive in the fast and rocky sessions. Here I have no chance versus Nico Voullioz and company. But of course it was great fun. And you don’t see too often a podium with Freeride, DH and Cross Country pros all together celebrating.”
Nino remarked that the new Genius LT was the ideal race bike for this event: “The Genius LT with its TwinLoc system was the best choice for me. Being able to lock the system completely, or halfway (110 mm of rear travel) while pedaling was as important for me as having as much travel as possible (185 mm of rear travel) in the technical and fast downhills.”
