Bikemagic’s bike porn made its debut last week with a titanium Lynskey speedway machine. With its purple stem and lime green rims, the Lynskey is a work of art. This, however, is at the other end of the scale altogether.
The Hrotor is Krutor’s flagship bike. The downhill beast comes with a full carbon frame, Shimano Nexus four-speed planetary gear, 26″ front wheel and 24″ rear.
Weighing in at 23kg, the Hrotor is not for the faint hearted, with the shock capable of just shy of one foot of rear wheel travel. Avid mechanical disc brakes bring the Hrotor to a halt but we see little stopping this when it’s in full flow.
The death black finish is brought to life with flashes of white and a hint of red and a Azonic Love Seat Kevlar saddle has the job of keeping you on board.
“This is currently the flagship of Krutor,” said the Czech manufacturer. “Its main features are planetary gear integrated inside the frame, complete carbon frame and extreme parameters.
“The whole design-production process took almost three years; its first race was in 2005. In 2006, this bike represented our constructing, designing and manufacturing skills.
“This bike is not for sale and we’re not going to produce another piece. Therefore we ignore any questions regarding the price.”
Scared? We are.
