Entry forms for popular charity 24 hour bikeathon CLIC24 are now available, and with places limited to 500 riders you’d best be quick. After quite a lot of course changes over the event’s five-year history, organiser Neil Wilkins and his team have settled on last year’s successful formula of a 10 mile loop on the Mendip Hills and an event HQ at Charterhouse.
CLIC24 isn’t a race, it’s a charity endurance event – the idea is that riders secure sponsorship for completing laps, with the money going to childrens’ cancer and leukaemia charity CLIC Sargent. It’s raised over £110,000 so far, and the 2007 target is an extra £50,000. With the (by 24 hour standards) relatively small field and the promise of home-cooked food and live music, the atmosphere should be suitably laid-back.
Need further encouragement? Bikemagic’s Mike Davis and Dave Arthur are both planning to make 24 hour solo debuts at CLIC, so there’s always the possibility of pointing and laughing…
CLIC24 2007 will be held on the weekend of 12/13 May at Charterhouse, Mendip Hills, Somerset. Entry forms are now available for download from the event website at www.clic24.org.uk.
