Cotic Cycles have been busy. For the past two years they’ve been working on a brand new full suspension bike, and details have just been released on the new bike, which will replace the Hemlock, the company’s first debut into full suspension.
Called the Rocket, the frame features 150mm of rear travel via the company’s new Droplink suspension design, and is designed around 140-160mm forks. It’s intended for trail riding and has a 66.5 degree head angle and 13.3in bottom bracket height (when a Fox Float 150mm fork is fitted). The suspension uses 15mm pivot axles at the main pivot and Droplink pivots, and the seat tube has been oversized to 35mm to increase frame stiffness as much as possible.
The frame has been made from Reynolds 853 tubing, with the swingarm using 7005-T6 aluminium and a chromoly seatstay/shock strut. The Droplink is CNC-machined from 7071 aluminium. Frame weight is 7.3lb including a Fox RP23 shock.
Other details worth mentioning include a 44mm headtube designed to accept zero stack top and external bottom cup headsets. Seatpost is dropper-ready with a 31.6mm diameter, and there’s clips under the top tube to secure the remote hose. Cotic have seen fit to add ISCG05 mounts at the bottom bracket, making single ring 1×10 set-ups easily possible.
Out back is a Syntace X12 142-12mm thru-axle, and tyre clearance is claimed to be good, and there’s room for 2.5in tyres.
More details soon, but for now sit back and watch this video to head Cy Turner, head of Cotic, talk you through the new bike.
