The Hope Valley Mountain Bike Challenge has extended its entry deadline to September 18.

The event offers two routes, 20 miles and 38 miles, around the Hope Valley.

The longer route takes in Jaggers Clough, Edale and Jacobs Ladder before returning via Rushup Edge and Hollins Cross (Mam Tor), while the shorter option still takes in some of the most beautiful scenery in the Peak District.

Refreshments will be provided at three checkpoints along the route with hot soup at the finish.

The last event raised over £2,500 and donations were made to two local schools as well as Edale Mountain Rescue.

In 2010 donations will be made to Hope Valley College (where the event takes place) and Edale Mountain Rescue Team, while proceeds will also be used to maintain the bridleways.
