Night riding is one of the most exciting parts of mountain biking, but it can be easy to be daunted by the many expensive setups available if you’re just getting into it.
Electron aims to make night riding more accessible with its brand new Terra 2 Evo, due for release in September, costing just £124.99.
Each miniature lamp unit throws out 180 Lumens, or 360 Lumens when used together, with a small lithium-ion battery offering a claimed 4.5-hour runtime on full power mode.
They certainly don’t look like they ‘only’ cost £125, that’s for sure. We’re impressed with the build quality even on these prototype samples, and the high level of design and attention to detail.
A single lamp version, the Terra 1 Evo, is also available for £99.99.
For less demanding night riding, commuting springs to mind, the small Milli lights use a smart rubber hook-style clamp mechanism. Yes it’s similar in style to the lights popularised by Knog, but Electron have managed to improve on the design, making them easier to use. They’re rechargeable through a mini USB port, located under the light and hidden inside a small port.
The Milli lights are available for front and rear, in a variety of colours, and costing £29.99 a pair.
