The organisers of this weekend’s Kona 100 at Rhayader, the first of a three-event series, tell us that they’re expecting around 700 riders on the line on Sunday. It’s rather late to enter now, but entries on the line are welcome – they’d rather you showed up on Saturday to register if you’re entering at the event.
Registration is from 12 noon until 8pm on Saturday, with the traditional pasta frenzy between 5 and 6. Registration will re-open on Sunday from 7-9am, and the start is at 10.
They’ve also produced a profile of the course (that’s it over there) so you can get an idea of what you’re letting yourself in for. Can’t make it to Rhayader? Don’t forget the second event at Builth Wells (5-6 July) and the final at Corwen (20-21 September). More details at www.mtb-marathon.co.uk.
