The second day of the Kokanee Crankworx saw some of the worlds fastest downhillers on the planet take it to infamous Garbanzo downhill. After yesterday’s rain the course was as slick as it’s become known for year after year.
The Monster Energy Garbanzo DH has never had a full top to bottom dry course in the past few years and today proved no different. With some spotty showers up top making the roots ever so greasy and mainly dry conditions down below racers pinned it down to gain some amazingly fast times. Legendary Anne-Caroline Chausson dominated the course as expected she would with last year’s winner Squamish local Miranda Miller coming in 2nd and Fionn Griffiths rounding out 3rd place.
When it came to the Pro Men last years 2nd place Chris Kovarik smashed the record from Justin Leov’s 2009 win by over 22 seconds taking in the win. Second place went to Justin and 3rd to fellow NZL countryman Sam Blenkinsop.
