Looking for an enticing blend of adventure sports and live music? Check out the forthcoming Xuberance Weekend (Royal International Pavilion, Llangollen, 9/10 June 2007), a brand new weekend festival promising “thrills, spills and great music”.
Event Management Company Xuberance Ltd have created the event in North Wales to demonstrate the range of extreme sports activities available in the surrounding area, which is rapidly gaining a reputation as the adventure capital of the UK.
Xuberance Weekend aims to showcase the range of challenging activities already available in North Wales. The event also aims to build on the increased popularity of general extreme sports such as Mountain biking, skateboarding and BMX, inspiring more people to get a piece of the action.
Amongst the impressive list of attractions will be:
- Freestyle Motocross Arena Featuring top uk riders in a head-to-head competition on a custom build truck ramp
- Dirt BMX competition Over 100 tonnes of dirt is being used to create a series of jumps which will see some of the top riders competing for the Xuberance ‘King of Dirt Trophy’.
- Street Course/Skate Park A park is being designed and built especially for the weekend and has already attracted top names in BMX, and Skateboarding.
- Mini Ramp Demos Top pros will be showing their skills.
- Mountain Bike display A trials display team will amaze the visitors with their bike handling skills, moving around a course with many different obstacles.
- The North Wales Activities area Bringing extreme sports companies from across North Wales together to show the diverse range of activities available, the organisers have secured a number of off-site activities were visitors can sign up to taster sessions in the natural environment.
- Rock Climbing Wall An electronic climbing wall is perfect for this event because it can be tailored each time depending on the level of the climber.
- One-man tethered hot air balloon rides One of the UK’s finest balloon pilots will be demonstrating a one-man hot air balloon and, weather permitting, will be offering visitors the chance to have a tethered ride.
- Extreme downhill carving Chainsaw carver Simon O’Rourke will host a ‘carve a go-kart comp’ featuring the UK’s finest carvers. Each team will be given a log and two days to carve a kart which will then be raced on the Sunday afternoon.
Live music will feature throughout the weekend with performances taking place in The Royal International Pavilion, a purpose built music venue set in the centre of the site. The pavilion has canvas walls at the rear of the building which will be removed to allow the main stage to become a focal point, seen and heard from all areas of the site. During the weekend local bands will be given the opportunity to perform, allowing them to demonstrate their talents by providing background music for extreme sports performances. Sports action will conclude each day at around 6pm, with the focus then switching to the main stage for a pulsating evening concert.
