For the tenth year, Willingen will stage the Sympatex Bike Festival on June 1-3. Last year the event attracted in excess of 15,000 spectators, where Steve Peat took overall victory by two seconds.
You’ll be able to see Steve and plenty of other top riders in action again this year, with the event aiming to be even bigger. There’ll be plenty to keep you entertained, including an expo area, but the central attraction is the Wheels of Speed event. The highest UCI ranked riders will line up alongside any amateurs who manage to get through qualification. They’ll all be in the race for the huge €30,000 prize money.
The list of the Top 16 UCI riders who have confirmed their attendance sofar looks very promising, including Sam Hill, Steve Peat, Nathan Rennie, Cedric Gracia, Greg Minnar, Mick Hannah, Chris Kovarik, and more.
Organisers are looking for racers who want to show their best in either pro or amateur class, and the course is being modified so everybody can stand a chance of getting down. Sign up on website if you’re tempted. The website is packed full of rider portraits, photo galleries from last year and tons more.
