Congratulations to the Clan DH team, for taking time out to organise a full
coaching day for up and coming riders aged from 10 -15.
After being postponed for a week by snow, nearly 30 young riders turned up at
Perth to be coached by Paul Angus, Alan Blyth, Crawford Carrick-Anderson,
Graeme Duke, Mark Mackarel and Stu Thomson. With additional help from Giant
who leant their truck and trailer race rig, and Stewart Wilson Cycles of
Stirling who gave technical and organisational support, the day was a massive
success. Kids turned up from as far as the very northern highlands to learn,
practice and earn certificates and prizes by the end of the day.
Parents too were delighted, commenting “He was completely blown away with
everything that happened” and (it’s been)”the best day of his life”.
For those who missed this session, or just want second helpings the next
coaching day is on March 3rd, while the Clan will also be organising the
“Clan-Giant Juvenile Race Series” at several SCU events this summer, with a
Giant DH frame up for grabs for the overall winner.
