We knew if we posted something as pathetic as that cycling manager ‘news’ somebody would take pity on us with some real stuff.
Big thanks to Brant of On-One and Planet-X bikes for “this little nugget from our man Nick Craig”.
“Oh, and hot news from the front is that the UCI had a meeting with
all managers to say they are going to change the format of the World
Cup to have point to point, stage races, short courses, enduro and
standard cross country. It has taken a long time for them to realise
they need a change. There was talk of putting the races on at the
festivals like Roc D’Azur. Sounds good to me. See you…”
As yet this is unconfirmed by the UCI themselves, but the idea of moving the races to where the people already are rather than making the people trek out to see them sounds a much better idea to us.
Now we’ve had the tip off, we’ll try and find out the full story, but meanwhile if you want to read more insights into the life of a pro racer and what happens in the parks of Madrid in Nick’s Diary on the Planet-X website.
