Looking for an event with a difference this summer? Then how about the Touquet Raid Pas-de-Calais? It’s an adventure race that combines running, canoeing, orienteering and MTBing on 4/5 April.

Now in its 9th year, the event last year attracted 260 teams of two. The event takes place over two days, and the start sees competitors taking to their first challenge on the sands of Touquet beach.

Organiser Karine Baillet says: “Since 1996 I travel around the world, Europe and France to participate in Raids, but where I still practice daily Le Touquet and the surrounding area where there is everything I need to move.

“In 2001 I really became aware of the environment in which I lived and I said ,‘with all the richness of these sites myself, why not discover this little known subject of all, why not organize a raid on Le Touquet and the Opal Coast.”

The event aims to raise the awareness of sustainable development and environmental preservation.
