With the blockades being lifted as we speak, it’ll still be
a few days before the petrol situation gets back to normal.
However it’s not all bad news – bike shops up and down the country have had incredibly
good business for the last few days, with people bringing in bikes dug out of the
backs of sheds, people ordering trailers to take the kids to school and all manner
of other things.
York Cycleworks sold 13 more bikes than normal on Tuesday, and it’s been the same
all over the country.
Forget Sustrans or the Millennium Festival of Cycling – a fuel blockade is just what
we needed to get Britain cycling!
