The Lowdown MTB guide to Europe

World famous photographer Victor Lucas has travelled all over Europe following mountain bike races of all shapes and sizes and reporting them for various print and online titles.

He’s also visited probably more destinations than nearly anyone else, if not for magazine features then on a personal quest to ride every mountain bike trail in Europe… And now he’s bringing some of those experiences to us via his new iPad App: The Lowdown MTB Guide to Europe.

The best feature has to be the gallery of 250 of Victor’s best images from his years as one of the most revered photographers in the sport – reason enough on its own to buy the App.

There are around twenty-five locations listed at present, but that list will be continually added to

As Victor puts it “For anyone planning a mountain bike trip in Europe, exploring new destinations, or just looking for a taste of the best riding spots – the Lowdown MTB Guide to Europe is a brand new interactive iPad App, offering high quality visuals and detailed information that you just won’t find anywhere else.”

Here is the official press release:

The highlight of the App is an extensive collection of 250 stunning images from the archives of renowned photographer Victor Lucas, culled from 12 years of travel while shooting World Cup, Enduro and Freeride events and visiting a wide variety of MTB locations along the way. Epic adventure, trail-shredding action and breathtaking scenery – it’s right here for you to enjoy.

The App is designed from the ground up to make the most of the iPad – the interactive map shows 25 of the best riding locations throughout nine different countries – from the Downhill and Freeride resorts of the Alps, to Enduro rides in the Italian Riviera and on to the best Trail Centres in the UK and Ireland.

Each location has useful info along with a write-up about the place and the trails

Each location is reviewed in depth along with detailed trail statistics. Whether you’re into DH, Enduro, Freeride, XC or 4X – You’ll get the lowdown on what the riding is really like, the best trails and when to go. Well-known riders and racers also weigh in with their favourite destinations for racing and riding. When the time comes to book a trip – there are links to bikepark websites for the latest up-to-date info, as well as local companies who can provide uplift, guiding and accommodation.
