The Brighton Big Dog is a new 6-hour enduro that takes to the singletrack trails of Stanmer Park, Brighton on 15 August.
The event was prompted by the G2 Revolver Long Good Saturday event held at Stanmer Park last year. As such local riders have come together to put on a rider organised, not for profit, summer classic at the venue.
A dedicated team have been meticulously combing the park in order to unearth new and hidden gems and say that the natural flowing singletrack has been enhanced. Whilst the course is sounding good those in the venue will be able to enjoy top music from resident Brighton DJ’s, excellent food, a retro bike parade, Harvey’s ale, a host of tea and cakes and most importantly a top vibe.
The Big Dog ends not at the finish line but at closing time in the local pub with any profits from the day going behind the bar at the post race party venue to make sure that you are rehydrated.
Thanks to many friends and industry insiders, the organisers are proudly boasting a large fund of prizes from the likes of Cannondale, Exposure Lights, Independent Fabrication, Gary Fisher, Skins, Apple and Morvelo.
The event offers some further twists with a dedicated pre-1995 retro-category and the unique “Onederdog” cat. The Onederdog enables anyone, passer-by, supporter or those who just want a quick burn to check out the singletrack for one lap at any time. For £6 you’ll get free tea and cake and also leader board status.
