This year the Big Bike Bash mountain bike festival will take place on the weekend of the 21st-22nd August at Avon Tyrrell in the New Forest.
A celebration of all things mountain biking, 300 riders and their families attended the inaugural event in 2009. The event was a huge success, and raised £2,200 for the country’s leading youth work charity UK Youth which helps disadvantaged young people across the UK.
The 2010 event promises to be even bigger, with more riders, prizes, bands, and beer! The Big Bike Bash is aimed at both the keen mountain biker and the happy amateur with events for every level of rider, including under-12s.
Avon Tyrrell, UK Youth’s New Forest headquarters, proved the perfect setting. The event saw support from some big industry names such as Pearl Izumi, Exposure, Torq, Exodus Holidays and Soreen to name just a few. Exposure, Green Oil and Hargroves Cycles have already signed up for this years event.
The Big Bike Bash 2010 will be bigger and better with more to see and do for the whole family. The Cross-country racecourse made up of 3.5miles of sweet, twisty single-track, river-crossings, boardwalk, and the events Unique Lake Jump proved to be massive hits last year! It is the perfect festival for the whole family, with two days of live music performed by local bands, a beer festival boosting a selection of local ciders, fine ales and beers and many special activities to keep the kids entertained.
As with last year, The Big Bike Bash’s top qaulity facilities include on-site camping with a kids and family area, showers, bike wash, workshop, picnic area and much more.
