Take a look at how exactly the Mezzo Folding Bike works

Mezzo folding bike Origins

Mezzo came about when a former F1 suspension designer turned his back on the track and jumped in the saddle. Jon Whyte’s original folding machine came in one colour (silver) and one variation – a four speed hub gear. But it was the simple clunk-click technology that got everyone talking. No awkward screws to undo. No fiddly catches. Big, chunky grips that you can operate even with your gloves on.

The Fold

The Mezzo can be folded up or down quicker than you can tie a pair of shoelaces. Like anything, it needs careful demonstration initially, but once mastered, come rain, shine, sleet or snow you’ll be folding your steed quicker than anyone else on the platform!

USP

The Mezzo’s unique selling point has remained unchanged even as the models have developed and it is this; the bike does not fold on the main frame! Unlike other folding commuter bikes, the Mezzo gives a solid, sturdy ride much more akin to riding a big wheeled bike than a 16 incher.

The Changes

From the halcyon days of one model, one choice (a bit like Henry Ford!) the Mezzo brand has moved on year by year to give a range of options now. You can still go for a four-speed bike, but many more people are working with a nine-speed derailleur option. The latest incarnation – in a range of mouth watering colours including berry red and a sumptuous blue – is getting rave reviews.

Who likes It?

Stuff Magazine, The Mail on Sunday, The Folding Society – you name it, their reviewers have fallen in love with the sleek lines and superb performance on the Mezzo. Top of their list of likes has been the clunk click catches and the non-twist secure ride. The bike has won awards and is a must for anyone who wants to put a bit of cycling in their lives but doesn’t have space for a full size machine.

Why Do People Love Mezzo?

The Mezzo is for people who want to go places and the Mezzo is the bike to take them there. Big enough to take on the city traffic and small enough to fold under the desk while you earn your corn, is there room in your life for a Mezzo?
