Specialized has officially announced it will sponsor the Festina cycling team.

Specialized will supply the Festina team with most of the equipment they need – bicycles, helmets, bottles, cages, computers and Body Geometry saddles for the 2000 and 2001 racing seasons.

The team will ride custom S-Works M4 road frames built from the same stock aluminum as the company’s production road bikes, though team riders will have a super-light bike, a time trial bike and a “secret bike” to be unveiled after the Tour de France begins, pending UCI approval. Festina is additionally supported by Campagnolo, DT Swiss, Gruppo, Mavic and Time.
