Here’s a novelty – the team behind the long-running Cheddar Challenge have put a new spin on the enduro format by making the determining factor not distance or time, but height…
The idea of the Everest Challenge is to climb roughly the height of Everest within a 32-hour timespan. To that end, there’ll be two courses from Cheddar to the top of the Mendips (and back), one off-road and one road. Each will offer 1,000ft of climbing and you (and your team) will have to do one or the other (or a combination of both) 29 times to complete the challenge. Yes, you can do it solo if you really must…
It’s not a race, all proceeds go to the Arthritis Research Campaign, the date is 17/18 July, the venue is Broadway House Caravan Park (with all the facilities you need) and you can get more details on 01934 742610. There’ll be information at www.cheddarchallenge.co.uk soon, or send an SAE to The Cheddar Everest Challenge, Broadway House, Cheddar, Somerset, BS27 3DB.
