CTC, the national cyclists’ organisation, is offering weekend courses for anyone interested in learning basic and intermediate mountain biking skills. The organisation has assembled a crack team of experienced male and female instructors and sorted out bases at high-quality accomodation in the Surrey Hills and North Downs.
The courses will be split between basic skills, including bike safety and trail etiquette, and intermediate, including drop-offs, bomb holes and the like.
There’ll also be women-only courses run by female instructors. CTC Cycle Training Co-ordinator, Greg Woodford, says: “Many people, especially those who live in cities, buy mountain bikes but never learn to make the most of them off-road. These courses are designed for people who want to get the most out of the sport, but who aren’t afraid to admit they want to learn the basics. And in the case of the women-only courses, they will be great fun but definitely machismo-free weekends.”
The courses will cost £249 including accommodation, food and tuition. Bike hire will be available if you don’t have your own. Further details from Greg on 01483 520758 or [email protected].
