Only a few more days to go until the Ride for a Flight weekend being held at the RATZ MTB course at Checkendon near Reading. The organisers have arranged a whole series of rides for the Saturday covering all ages and abilities, followed by the main Ride for a Flight event to be held Sunday August 17th.
The event format is simple, turn up on Saturday, ride in the sun and enjoy the company. Chill out Saturday evening with camping, music, a BBQ and much “ad-hoc” entertainment. On Sunday, ride as many laps of the waymarked course as you can whilst raising money for the Air Ambulance.
The course has been designed to suit all abilities with marshalled loops for experts, beginners and children. The Air Ambulance will be in attendance to cheer you on, along with resident “fettlers” who will sort out your bike and a variety of industry sponsors.
It’s not too late to enter now, you can even enter on the line on
Sunday. For more information see the RUSS Appeal website at www.russ-appeal.org.uk.
Many mountain bikers have given huge amounts of their time and effort to organise this event. All of you will benefit as a result with the Air Ambulance receiving EVERY SINGLE penny of sponsorship you bring along.
