Our sister site RoadCyclingUK.com is currently running a series of charity auctions to raise money for Save the Children, the Red Cross and Oxfam. And what’s being auctioned? Jerseys. Yes, it’s the RCUK Jersey Amnesty, in which people are encouraged to donate interesting jerseys which are then auctioned off for the aforementioned good causes.
We’re plugging the current one because we think it might be of interest to the mountain bikey types that frequent Bikemagic, and also because it’s one that we donated. It’s a rather smart Specialized/Mt Dew team jersey from sometime around 1996, but the best bit is that it’s signed by most of the team including XC legend Ned Overend and snowboarder-turned-downhiller-turned-snowboarder again Shaun Palmer.
We like to think that someone out there might be willing to part with a bob or two to own a little piece of MTB race memorabilia like this – head over to RCUK’s auction page if you’d like to place a bid. You’ve got until 18 February…
