Newnham Park, Plymouth will this weekend host a throng of cycling events, kicking off on Saturday 25 September with the final round of the the British XC series.
A star-studded list of names including Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesja, Liam Killeen, Annie Last, Oli Beckingsale, Rosara Joseph and Amanda Sin will be attendance for what is expected to be some tantalisingly close racing. Find out more or why not enter at www.britishxc.co.uk.
As the sun sets the Shred Super Cyclo-Cross race will get underway with flood lights illuminating the course in front of a crowd expected to be fuelled by beer and cider.
Then, on Sunday the weekend draws to a close with the Newnham 60. The Newnham 60 began in 2001 and has always been regarded for some great riding, superb on route atmosphere and quality facilities. This year around 500 riders will take on the revised 30k loop for 1 or 2 laps enjoying the best of Newnham Park’s natural and varied trails and surrounding moorland and quarry landscapes.
All riders will receive a T-shirt, free camping (with hot showers), well supported feed station (thanks to Accelerade and Certini), a fully waymarked and marshalled route with first aid on hand and the now expected cream tea at the finish. www.newnham60.co.uk
