If you’re lucky enough to be able to escape to North Wales MTB hotspot Coed y Brenin during the week, be aware that as of last week the Pink Heiffer section of the MBR trail will be closed while tree felling goes on. There’ll be a fully signposted diversion in place. CyB MTB ranger Mark Mortimer says that the work should finish in time for Easter if riders stay away from working areas – other forest areas have had trouble with riders ignoring trail closures and diversions, which just slows down the work and does no-one any favours.

The trail will be fully open at weekends.
