Paul Smith designs shirts for Twentyfour12

Paul Smith Jeans has designed the official strip for the 2006 Twentyfour12 Bontrager Enduro. The 100 limited edition striped jerseys are “inspired by Paul Smith’s passion for cycling” – obviously that’s the fashion designer Paul Smith, not the bike journalist and photographer Paul Smith. Although we dare say that the latter could probably turn out a respectable jersey too. But that’s not relevant right now.

Twentyfour12 is a combined 12 and 24 hour MTB endurance race and will be run at a new, purpose-built venue at Lodgewood Park, Shropshire on the weekend of 22/23 July. The event has been created by technical director Keith Bontrager and Inevent. Keith is one of the world’s most experienced 24hour racers and will help make this the most innovative and enjoyable 24hour event in the UK. He’ll be sporting an exclusive Paul Smith jersey for the race.

Paul Smith says, “I have always loved cycling jerseys. I love the colour combinations and patterns, this is part of my continuing love of cycling, my passion for the sport which I was never able to do professionally. Designing the official strip for the Twentyfour12 Enduro was really great, it’s brilliant to be part of such a big cycling event, I cannot wait to see the line up of 100 stripes, all together, what an image!”

If you want to get your team into one of the exclusive strips, keep an eye on www.twentyfour12.com – all the designs will appear there soon, it’ll be first come, first served…
