There’s been a degree of confusion over the fate of popular UK clothing brand Parrot over the summer. Parrot Performancewear Ltd of Chester went into receivership some time ago, but happily one of its suppliers stepped up to snap up the Parrot brand itself.

Daleswear is a manufacturer of outdoorsy garb based in the Yorkshire Dales, and has stated its intention to carry on with Parrot where the previous owners left off. Ed Amesbury, who originally founded Parrot, will be working with Daleswear on product designs.

To us consumers it’s very much business as usual. The mail order phone number is the same (0870 99 88 001) and the website is still at www.parrot-onlie.com. You’ll also be able to get Parrot stuff at Cyclex stores in Nottingham and from a new factory outlet in the Yorkshire Dales, opening in spring.
