A release, circulating on the internet states…

It is with great regret that we inform your readers
of our decision not to hold the twelfth annual Malvern Classic or any other thereafter.

We offer our thanks to each one of you who have joined us over the years to cheer
the many triumphs and share our sadness at the tragedy that also visited our coming
together.

Thanks also to the companies who have supported our efforts over the years. Their
support made it possible for us to lead the way. Most especially we thank Trek who
have been the most loyal supporter of the event throughout its history. They put
something back into the sport when so many other companies just refused to.

Our best wishes go to all racers, may British riders soon rule the World.

The Malverns 1989 to 1999, thanks for the memories.
