Despite pressure from a group of 40 petitioning MP’s and the Communication Workers Union, Royal Mail has so far refused to put lids on postmen.
The pressure comes after the death of a postman after a traffic accident in London, but the reaction from those helmet hating Hells Angels of cycling – the CTC – has been typically knee jerk – citing that there is no proven link between helmet wearing and greater survival statistics.
All we’re saying is we know we’ve had our lives saved more than once by lids while riding on the road and we certainly wouldn’t ride without them.

Definitely not if we had to put up with drum brakes as bad as the last post bike had a go on.
