1998 Scottish 10 mile champion Hugh Jamieson, Inverclyde Velo, was released
from hospital on Tuesday 11th April where he had been detained as a result
of a fall. Hugh had been riding the hilly 25 TT at Galashiels in Scotland
when he fell on loose gravel. As a result he broke his jaw, four teeth ,
lost the bottom part of his lip and re ceived some 74 stitches in his face.

The first event of the newly formed Scottish LVRC over 7.2 miles in time
trial format was won by CTC rider Ian Hepburn.The Scottish group Time Trials
are awarded on handicap and the courses are on safer random distances.
46 Year old Ian Hepburn also won the Aberfoyle to Killearn and return 22
mile time trial on the 9th April.His winning time was 1-2-32 although
Scottish veteran champion Davie Millar, Glasgow Couriers actually covered
this challenging course in 51.40 beating the nearest challenger George
Cowan, Glasgow RC, by over 3 minutes.

The next Scottish LVRC event is the Easter 2 day stage race held around
Beith area. This includes a prologue time trial, a criterium event on
Saturday 22nd and on Sunday 23 April there is a 50 mile Road Race all in age
