The New Forest Cycle Festival will kick-off on the weekend of October 2-3 with events on offer for both mountain bikers and road cyclists alike.

The weekend – part of the nationwide Wiggle Super Series – starts on the Saturday with a mountain bike event – or cyclo-cross, if you prefer – with 44 mile, 25 mile and 10 mile routes on offer.

For fans of skinny tyres, a hill-climb in the afternoon over a one kilometre course near Brockenhurst provides the perfect warm-up to Sunday’s sportive.

Three routes are on offer – the Epic 100 mile ride, the Standard 66 miler or the 44 mile option – and all three have to conquer the 25 per cent Blissford Hill.

Entry fees include electronic timing, feed stations, free sports nutrition, event photography, bike wash facilities and sign-posted courses.
