NACC Events are again holding a Winter Series of cross country
races. Sponsored by Newton Abbot bike shop Onabike, the series will be over four
rounds held between November and April. Each event will have a different format,
as NACC try to revive interest in cross country racing in the South West.

Cross Country Rnd 1
OFFROAD TIME TRIAL
Round one of the NACC Events Cross Country Winter Series will be an off road time
trial. This will take place on Saturday 18th November
Practice for all categories will be from 11:00am to 12:50pm. At 1pm competitors from
the Under 12, Under 14, Fun and Novice Women will then depart at one minute intervals
on a time trial of approx 7 miles. They will be followed by all other categories
for a time trial of approx 12 miles, again departing at one minute intervals. .
Signing on will be open from 11:30am. Start order will be decided by order of entry,
with earliest entry starting last etc. Starting order will be published on the event
noticeboard at 11:45am. NO PRACTICE will be allowed after the event starts at 12:00pm.
The time trial will take place at Ashcombe Activities Centre near Exeter. Make a
note in your diary now!

HOUR LONG RACE
Round two is at the predominantly flat but ultra popular Bicton College, the races
here are one hour plus a lap for all the adult categories and thirty minutes plus
a lap for all others (barrinig the under 8’s!) Refreshments, toilets, showers and
a bar all on site.

Cross Country Rnd 3
SPRINT RACES
The much demanded return of the Sprint race format, every competitor competes in
four heats over the mile long course in this exciting head to head format racing.
Competitors score points for finishing positions with the highest 8 scorers then
contesting the A final, the next the B etc etc etc, everyone races a final. Practice
for all categories will be from 11:00am to 12:50pm. At 1pm competitors start the
qualifying races, with the finals at 3pm. This event will be held at Finlake Holiday
Village, near Chudleigh. Bars, restaurant, shops, toilets, swimming pool and all
other facilities available on site.

Cross Country Final
LONGER RACES
The finals will be longer races than the norm with the adults competing in two hours
plus a lap and the younger ones one hour plus a lap, at a new venue, which is yet
to be announced, full details will be available after Christmas.
A competitors best two scores plus the final will count towards the end of series
awards, with all categories scoring towards an overall series champion. The overall
series champion wins the Onabike Trophy and #100 Onabike Voucher. There will be loads
of other end of season award, kindly donated by Onabike.
