This year’s National Marathon Championship offers a rare opportunity to race round a full 25km marathon lap in the South East of England on 11-12 September.
The course is based on the beautiful Pippingford Estate, near East Grinstead and Gatwick Airport, and will include the now famous bermed Pippingford downhill, as ridden by Steve Peat last winter, and quarry sections and stream crossings as well.
With distances from 25km right up to the 100km full marathon there’s racing for everyone.
National Marathon Champs schedule
09:45- Women – Senior 100km, Vet 75km start
10:00- Men – Senior, Vet, Open and Open Vet (ALL 100km) start

In addition to the Marathon Champs, organisers SMBC are staging the Southern Area XC Champs the day before (Saturday 11 September) so it’s a great excuse for spending a whole weekend riding on great tracks in a beautiful country estate. Full event info and on-line entry can be found at www.nationalxcchamps.co.uk/marathon.
Entries for the Championship categories (Senior and Vet) close on the 15 August, so make sure you get your entries in soon. Entries for the other categories are open until the 6 September.
