The rangers of the North Yorkshire forests are “asking people not to ride in any of the forests, including Dalby, Boltby, Guisborough until the water table goes down.” Andrew Smith from Forest Enterprise continues “We’ve got geological springs opening up that we’ve not seen before.”

Adrian Carter of Pace – who sponsor the trails in Dalby forest – confirmed they’d asked for the trails to be closed after landslides and the sheer volume of water had turned gullies into log flumes and made much of the purpose built circuits impassable.

So basically If you were thinking of heading out that way this weekend, make other plans. The Dales are OK as long as you stick to the rocky bits or why not come along and join us on our Peaks ride on Saturday.
