Memory-Map launches TrailZilla

TrailZilla promises easy route planning

From the makers of Memory-Map comes TrailZilla, a new website launched to facilitate the finding, planning and sharing of outdoor routes.

The website features topographic maps, satellite photography and street mapping, with tools enabling easy route planning and sharing. Archived routes can be printed on a map or downloaded direct to a handheld GPS or mobile phone.

After registration, users can store their own routes and access other member’s routes. The site will also allow users to rate each other’s shared routes and search for specific routes by either location or interest (such as walking, road cycling or mountain biking).

The site is free to use with the option to pay for premium topographic map data from the likes of Ordnance Survey. Subscriptions to full GB coverage with Ordnance Survey Explorer 1:25,000 and Landranger 1:50,000 maps cost less than 50p a week.

As well as planning and sharing routes, TrailZilla features content and POIs (Points of Interest) from ‘premium’ sources. This paid-for content will provide users with direct access to routes and location advice from the leading publishers relevant to their chosen activity.

Head to www.trailzilla.com to give it a whirl.
