There’s little rest for the cross-country mountain bike racers in the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, as they once again unpack the Lycra and prepare to race in the fourth round of the series at La Bresse, France.
The action is heating up in the overall standings, with Nino Schurter winning last weekend in Nova Mesto, Czech Republic, ensuring the battle at the top remains close.
There’s more though than the world cup at stake, with eyes on the London 2012 Olympics this is the last chance for most riders to make the criteria to be selected by their country.
An expected 25,000 spectators are expected to hit the venue, the first time a cross-country world cup has been hosted there.
