During one of the hottest spells we’ve seen here in Britain, with temperatures reaching the high thirties, you’d be forgiven for getting a bit hot (and sweaty) under the collar after a few miles in the saddle.
But it’s not just under the collar that you really suffer from the heat. To preserve our shoes this summer, and our reputation within the office, we’ve been using Cool Feet spray, which has left us fragrant, dry and as the name suggests, cool in the foot department.
You can spray Coolfeet into your shoes and onto your skin so that not only do get that ‘I can whip my shoes off with confidence’ feeling but your shoes remain cool and sweet smelling too as you’re riding.
Not only does this work on nasty odours but the spray is designed to refresh and stimulate the feet, nourish the skin and increase elasticity.
So, does it really work?
Designed to deodorise and disinfect rather than just hide odours this product is worth using to preserve the life of your shoes. Also, unlike your average deodorant, this product really does cool your feet down quite significantly. During the latest heatwave, one spray and our feet were instantly cooled by the refreshing mist of ice cold, minty fresh spray. It is quite a strong smell but far better to smell a bit minty than a bit sweaty, in my opinion.
The spray is designed to work instantly against perspiration and then last for up to 5 days in your shoe. It certainly does feel amazing when you spray it on to hot feet but we were suprised at how how much difference it made once we’d put our shoes back on. We tested the deodorant on one foot, and with both shoes back on there was a very clear difference. The shoe which we’d sprayed with Cool Feet remained refreshed whilst the other foor felt hot and soon went back to feeling clammy within minutes.
The product is designed to provide an anti-fatigue feeling and to relax feet and legs. After a long and hot commute into work it was instantly calming and the coolness of the spray did have a stimulating yet relaxing effect.
We’ve been using Cool Feet over the summer with fairly new shoes, which still remain quite freah and odour free. We’ve yet to see how the product performs with preserving the shoe long-term so we’ll keep you posted and give you an update later in the year.
